Gladiators move to Elite Eight: on-air talent
“Gladiators move to Elite Eight” was one of my first broadcast experiences. The CCHS football team was facing their competition for one of the most important games of the season, and I was asked to be the on-air talent. As I ran along the sidelines all game, I was put under immense pressure when setting everything up, creating a script during half time to recite, creating voice-overs and ending the night with on-the-spot interviews. While the experience was definitely unfamiliar and intimidating, I learned the basics of on-air talent and the process for broadcast.
Cedar Shoals High School v. Clarke Central High School football social media coverage
For the CCHS football game against our rival school, I was asked to cover this game on social media. I immediately had hopes of implementing creativity into the photos and videos to attract the audience. I love working with social media, posting and making things visually appealing, so I wanted to do something the OMG had never done before. I conducted brief interviews with students and parents from both teams, getting both competitive and fun quotes. I included many videos of the teams playing, the crowd and the environment in general. The many interviews with CCHS and CSHS students created a quick and visually attractive game coverage over Instagram for all students and parents to enjoy. It received some of the most attention and views on the story in years.
